Spoiled Rotten Cat Subscription Box Review

Pet Flow was kind enough to send me a complimentary Spoiled Rotten Cat Box for my review. You can get the Spoiled Rotten Cat box or the Spoiled Rotten Dog box for $24.99 per month. Each box contains almost $40 worth of products. Take a look at the video below where my cats, Cody and Kaci, and I open up the box!

The items included in this box are:

1.) Perfect Bites Cat Treats in Rabbit Flavor. These treats are made with only the highest quality ingredients and the hexagon shape is specifically designed to work with a cat's taste buds. $5.99

2.) Perfect Bites Cat Treats in Salmon Flavor. These treats contain bits of nutritious Salmon and the treats are wheat, corn, and soy free, and also contain no artificial flavors or colors. They are only 1 calorie per treat! $5.99

3.) Royal Canin Intense Beauty Cat Food. Formulated to strengthen and beautify a cat's coat. $1.99

4.) Petstages Shake Rattle and Roll Cat Toy. Neither of my cats like this toy yet. It is really loud so I assume that is what they don't like. I am hoping they will get used to it. My cats are 5 years old and 9 years old and both like to play.  $4.99

5.) Natural Chemistry Dental Cleanse for Cats. The cleanse is tasteless, odorless, and colorless, and works to eliminate bad breath and gingivitis, and also reduces plaque build up. I already called my vet and their dental hygienist said it was perfectly safe to use! $6.99

6.) Pet Naturals Vermont Dairy Cat Treats. These are made with real milk and yogurt! They are also free of corn meal, added grains, and artificial ingredients. $7.99

7.) Royal Canin Adult Instinctive Cat Food. This cat food provides your cat with a boost of energy and helps your cat maintain and ideal weight. $1.99

Total Value: $35.93

My thoughts: The box came with 3 bags of treats, 2 cans of cat food, a hygiene product, and a toy. It was a great mix of stuff and my cats will use all of it (except for the toy so far)! I would be interested in seeing how they alternate products in the box. The cans of cat food with be gone in a couple days, but those 3 bags of treats will last me for months--therefore do you receive so many treat bags in every box? Of course, my cats would not mind but with healthy treats the expiration dates are not as long as with "junk food" treats! Overall, I think it is a great service and one that we will be subscribing to in the future.

Right now I am thinking of getting a box on my cats birthdays, Christmas, and other special days! It will not break the bank and it will even be a surprise for me what they get! To get $5 off your first months box visit Pet Flow and use code: SRB9

BA Star Stardust Review

BA Star was kind enough to send me their Diamond Star Dust and Body Shimmer Base to review. Their Star Dust products only cost $8.75 each and come in a variety of colors.

The Products can be used for dance recitals and cheer competitions or for any dress up needs such as Halloween or parties. I personally liked using the Diamond Star Dust as a brow highlighter, it worked perfectly in making my eyes brighter.

The Body Shimmer Base did a great job at keeping the Star Dust to stay on when I used it on my hands and on my cheeks. However, I was not too active when wearing it so it would be interesting to see if you were sweaty if the same results would occur.

Other than the Diamond color, I would also love to try the Deep Plum Star Dust and the Bronze Star Dust. I prefer the Shimmer shades over the solid shades.

Thanks again to BA Star for letting me review their products!

"How to Keep A Job" Book Review

I was sent a digital copy of the book "How to Keep a Job" from Naija Job Hunt to review. While the content was interesting to read it was also very simple. The book was only four pages long, not including the cover page or the thank you page.

I would love for them to add to this book. They could successfully add to the book by having more tips on how to keep a job, getting into more details on each of the tips, and possibly expanding on how to get a job so that you are able to keep a job!

All the tips that were mentioned I have heard before:

TIP #1: Cultivate A Willing Attitude
TIP #2: Be Co-operative
TIP #3: Don’t Gossip
TIP #4: Be Punctual
TIP #5: Be Honest

The tip that is most important in my eyes is Don't Gossip. I feel that all of the other tips are no brainers, but the Don't Gossip tip is very important to learn early on in a job. Many of your co-workers will gossip, and you have to be careful who you share information with as it may get back to your bosses.

What are your best job tips? I'd love to hear them, comment below!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Skin Actives Collagen Serum Review

I recently tried out Skin Activies Collagen Serum, which happens to be one of their best selling products. At 26, I am not too worried about wrinkles but of course I would do anything now to delay getting them in the future. Personally, I did not love or hate the product. It is a product that I will finish using until the bottle is empty (I have used it for over two weeks now and still have over half a bottle left) but will not purchase it anytime in the near future.

If you currently use a Collagen Serum and want to mix it up, this is not a terrible one to try. It is important to try out different brands since they all work differently for everyone and a small bottle only costs $14.00.

  • The Product is easy to rub in and does not leave face feeling greasy or makes you feel like you need to wash your face. Your face also does not feel dry after putting the product on.
  • The color of the serum is brown but it absorbs quickly and does not leave a residue.
  • After using this product for almost three weeks my skin is noticeably softer. However, this is the only result I have seen from it so far. The bottle does not exactly say how much to deposit on your face each day so I could possibly not be using the correct amount.
  • I absolutely hated the scent. It smelt like a plant mix to me, and not fresh plants!
  • This is not so much a con but more of a suggestion that the label needs to be updated. Right now their current packaging looks like tester bottles and the labels look pretty cheap.

I was sent this product for free as a review but I always give my honest opinions whether or not they are good or bad. This is definitely a company I will try in the future just not for this product. I am interested in trying their Acne Control Cream and Sunscreen! I also think it's interesting that they make shaving cream, I would be interested in seeing how that works out!

If you have tried out any of the products or have any questions about this product please let me know in the comments below! And be sure to check out Skin Actives and take a look at all of their products!

Be A Product Tester for L'oreal August 2013

I have received another gift pack from L'oreal for participating in another study. In case you have not heard about the Product Testing Opportunity from there I have pasted the information below from my previous post. Be sure to read through it and watch my video to see what I got!

I want to show you all an amazing opportunity that I have been involved in for a couple years now. I have been testing products for L'oreal, and even though I only do a few jobs for them a year the benefits are great!

First they will send you the products to test out (these products are not in formal packaging and are usually not available to the public yet, but all products are believed to be safe and they just want to know consumers opinions before placing them on the shelves). After you test the products you will fill out one or more questionnaires about the products and then they will send you your compensation (which can range from one full size product to a package of full size products).

I just completed a 3 week Lipstick product test. I was able to keep the lipsticks after the study and also received other free items. They sent me a prize package (unboxing video and details below) which more than pays for the amount of work I did for them. You can sign up here:

Now for the fun, here is my unboxing video with names and prices of all the items underneath.

1.) Garnier Skin Renew Anti Sun-Damage Daily Moisure Lotion $12.99
2.) Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Doll Lash Effect Mascara $27
3.) L'oreal Brow Stylist Brow Shaping Duet in 335 $9.99
4.) Kiehls Supremely Gentle Eye Makeup Remover $16.50

Total Value: $66.48

August 2013 Conscious Box Review and Unboxing

This is my last Conscious Box. My subscriptions that I won have ran out, and since I did not use most of the items that came in each box I have decided not to sign up. Conscious Box costs $19.95 a month and all of the products are safe and natural. You can sign up here and can choose between a Classic Subscription, a Vegan Subscription, or a Gluten Free Subscription.

Here is my unboxing video for the August Box:

Here is a quick look at all the goodies I received the the box:

This was probably my least favorite box that I have received to date. I only received one beauty item in this months box, and since I do not like the taste of most organic foods this type of box is not useful to me. A lot of items in this months box were repeats from previous months, and it also included a lot of supplements (which I am not a fan of).

What I did like about the Conscious Box was that each month the box was jam packed with 10-20 items. Most other boxes only include around 5 items, and even though some may be a bit on the cheaper side per month it is nice to get a bunch of stuff in each box.

I love Subscription Box services and will continue to subscribe to Birchbox and the Popsugar Must Have Box. I may sign up for other subscriptions in the future, but at this moment I feel paying $45 per month for subscriptions is my limit.

I would love to see your review on other boxes so feel free to leave a link in the comments.

Wine Wear Review: How to Wrap a Wine Bottle

All my Dad ever wants for any Holiday is a bottle of wine, but how do I package it up? Do I leave it in the paper bag from the liquor store or do I go out and buy one of those decorated wine bags? Then what do I do with the card that does not fit into the bag?!

Introducing Wine Wear, a company that specializes in gifting Wine. The Wine Wear Card is the perfect replacement for both a bag and a card, as it functions as both. Best of all the Wine Wear card retails for $3.49 which is not too bad. The Wine Wear Card is patented, therefore no other company can make such a product, and is currently only sold on their website but is starting to branch out into Walgreens and other stores.

The Wine Wear Card comes in many different designs, but all sales of the Live Laugh Love Design go to a Cancer Charity, which is great! If you are not very creative with gift wrapping (like myself) than you will find Wine Wear very useful! Take a moment and check out all the designs: What is your favorite design? I love the Celebrate Design!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

The Natural Pet Company Cat Toys Mega Pack Product Review

The Natural Pet Company was nice enough to send me out their mega pack of toys for my cats to play with! My cats are so happy with these toys and have been playing with them for over a week now. Usually, they get bored of new toys after two days so I am happy that they are still enjoying them.

My cats love this pack of toys, especially the mouse on a stick. My nine year old cat can play with the mouse on a stick for hours. I have been using this with him for over a week now and he is not bored of it yet when usually they hate new toys after a few days. My five year old cat can careless about the mouse on a stick but enjoys the balls with the ribbons on them. Neither care for the stand alone mouse yet but I feel they will use that one after they get semi-bored of the other toys. I did have to tie a knot for the mouse on a stick since I accidentally ripped it out when trying to unravel the toy.

Cody loves the mouse on a stick!

Kaci guards the toys so Cody can not play!

If you are looking for new toys for your cats I would recommend getting this pack. It is available on Amazon at:
It is on sale right now for $13.95 and shipping is free if you spend over $25 on products from Amazon. It is a good deal for high quality cat toys.

Disclaimer: I was sent this pack of toys free to review on Amazon. I was not asked to review this on my blog, but since my cats loved the toys so much I wanted to share this with my readers. Regardless, my opinions are my own and I always give honest reviews!

August 2013 Popsugar Must Have Box Review & Unboxing

Please watch my unboxing video and then come back and read this post :)

The Popsugar Must Have Box is a subscription box which costs $35 per month, BUT all the products you get are full size and the boxes are always worth more than $100! If you love getting surprises than this box is for you!.

The items in the box:

1.) Gorjana Open Circle Necklace: I have already worn this necklace out and it is very cute and goes with almost every outfit! Value: $65
2.) Bentgo: This is such a useful way to carry your lunch. I will definitely be using this to bring lunch to work. It is microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe and comes with utensils! Value: $15
3.) Lulah Body Wash: Smells great! I always love getting full size beauty products! $11.25
4.) May Designs Weekly Agenda Notebook: This is the only item in the box that I will not personally use, but I will give it away as a gift. $15
5.) Lunares Apple Bowl: A little catch all dish for change or small items. I have not put anything in this bowl yet, but I do have it displayed on my vanity. I love it, it is so cute! $20
6.) Dermalogica Precleanse and Special Cleansing Gel: I have not tried these out yet, but look forward to doing so. $7 and $6
7.) Special Extra | Naturebox Granny Smith Apples: These are an okay snack. I will eat them, but I will not purchase them again. I am actually going to put them in the fridge to see if they taste better cold since they are apple pieces. $4

This is my favorite box yet! I have never been disappointed with the Popsugar Boxes, but this box I will definitely be getting more use out of than some other boxes.

Total value of the box: $143.25.  I paid $35, and since I will be using all but one of the items it was definitely worth my money. Plus I always love the surprise!

August 2013 Birchbox Review & Unboxing

View my Unboxing Video and then come back and read my post :)

Overall thoughts: I give this box a 3/5. It lost major points for having 3 foil packets, and no large or full size samples. A full size item along with a few smaller samples and a few foil packets is acceptable BUT all small size samples with foil packets is not. Shame on you Birchbox.

Inside the box is:

1.) Dr Jart+ Premium BB Cream SPF 45+ | Although this is a small sample it is an acceptable size since the product is so expensive to begin with. I have used this sample a couple times now and love it. It gives me coverage all day and does not fade. The color was also flattering for my skin tone. Full size, $39

2.)  MIYU Beauty de-stress mi beauty essence & tea | I will use the facial mist, however we only got one tea bag. I'm sure I will try the tea but most teas that I have received in Birchbox I have not liked. Full size, $16-34

3.) OC8 Professional Mattifying Gel | These came as two foil packets. I will use them but the foil packets do not make me excited to try the product.  Full Size, $41

4.) Whish Exfoliating Body Wash | This is a small sample for a body wash and will not last me long. I have used it once so far and I do love the coconut scent.  Full Size, $22

5.) The beauty extra this month is Whish Hair Inhibiting Deodorant Swipes. So much for "Swipes". This was a foil packet with ONE wipe. It is handy to keep in your purse but couldn't they have included at least two of them.  Full Size, $16

Is this box worth $10: Maybe. I think since the samples are all from Premium brands they would add up to more than $10 even though they are wimpy samples.
Is this box worth my $10: No. I do not HATE the box, but I do not appreciate getting foil packets. Foil packets are something a company sends you for free in the mail. I do not know why Birchbox has not caught on to this yet. I will use most of the items though. I was thinking of switching to a yearly, instead of monthly, subscription. I probably still will but a box like this doesn't really make me jump to change it.

Disclaimer: These opinions are my own and I was not asked, nor do I get compensation, to review the box or these items.

If you would like to sign up for the Beauty Box yourself, here is the link:

Woolzies Dryer Balls Review

I was sent these Woolzies Dryer Balls to test out and review in replace of using dryer sheets. Woolzies are 100% Eco Friendly and are guaranteed to last up to 1,000 loads! Meaning, no running out and buying dryer sheets for over a year!

On top of saving you money, Woolzies reduce static, eliminate wrinkles, and reduce drying time by 25%. I am always skeptical at first when hearing claims that sound too good to be true, but this product lived up to the hype! My clothes did dry faster and I did not have to iron many of my clothes after washing and drying!

Woolzies are made from New Zealand Wool and are safe for people with wool sensitivities and are chemical free!

You may purchase a box of Woolzies here. They cost $34.95 for a box of six and shipping is free anywhere in the United States. Once again, these can be reused and can be easily stored. I will not have to replace this item until 2015 nor will I have to buy dryer sheets.

If you are trying to cut cost on everyday essentials I would recommend buying these dryer balls. Even if you are looking to just save time they are great. Feel free to leave any questions below and I will be happy to answer them.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

UGLee Pen Review and Giveaway

They sure got this product right when naming it. This is not a very good looking pen, though it's looks have grown on me just like an ugly looking dog suddenly becomes cute. All I can think about when looking at these pens are ant antennas!

But more importantly than looks is personality, and this pen has a great one! They are VERY comfortable and write like a ballpoint-gel mix. The UGLee Pen was created by Dr. James Lee,  a real physician who wants to change the way people think about ergonomic pens.

Why Should you try this comfortable pen? Good Question!
1.) It uses the smoothest ink system known which is smoother than any gel, roller ball, or fountain ink pen.
2.) It weighs less than 11 grams, which is less than 1/2! This translates to more comfort!
3.) The full sized grip is shaped to follow the anatomy of the hand.

If you want to purchase an UGLee Pen visit: However, one lucky reader will be able to win a 3 pack! Just complete the easy rafflecopter tasks below! This giveaway is only open to residents of the United States.
