Ozeri Precision Digital White Bath Scale Review

No tapping required for this scale! Your weight pops up automatically once you step on it! I love it's sleek design. The scale is made of glass but is not too heavy. It matches my bathroom furniture quite well also. The LCD Widescreen is also very easy to read, meaning no squinting!

The pictures really do not do the scale justice, like I said it is made of glass so it has a very sheer look.

Right now, the Ozeri Precision Digital White Bath Scale, is currently out of stock on Amazon (it is just THAT popular!) but you can add it to your Wish List and you will be notified when it is back in stock.

As I have mentioned in past reviews I love the Ozeri brand. I recommend you check out their site and see what they have:  http://www.ozeri.com/.

Book Review: Bobby | A short Story

It's the summer of 1979. The weather is fantastic, and Danny can't wait to take Bobby, his disabled younger brother, fishing today, away from Dad, away from everything. But Danny has been frightened of Bobby's wheelchair ever since hearing of its terrible history. But those are just stories. They haven't any idea what can really happen, and they certainly aren't prepared for what awaits them today at Grady Pond.

The description above greatly describes what the story is focused on, the wheel chair. At the beginning of the story the focus is on Bobby (and if you did not read the description above beforehand you may think the story will have some Carrie type twist!) The cover art is great because it also gives you a sense of what the story is about before reading it (again focusing on the wheelchair, and not the person in the wheelchair).

I was very intrigued by the story since I love suspenseful stories. This story kept me on the edge of my seat for a while. The only thing that bothered me (and made me skip a page) was that there was some animal cruelty in the book. When I read I have a picture in my mind of everything that is happening and I could not bear to have the details evolve in my mind of an animal getting hurt-- so if you are like me then you may not want to read the story, or you may at least want to skip a couple pages!

For those of you who love a good suspense and are not freaked by graphic details this is a story for you! it is only 99 cents to purchase on Amazon! AND if you are signed up for prime and have a kindle device you can borrow the story for FREE!

Be sure to leave a comment below if you read the story and let me know what you thought about it. Also, if you have any questions that you have after reading my review please feel free to leave them below and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge!

If you are more into comedy than suspense be sure to read my review of Scott Zavoda's other short story Morning Commute!

Cottonelle Care Routine Review

I had the pleasure of trying out
Cottonelle's Flushable cleansing cloths. I have tried out other wipes before and I think these are much stronger than others I have tried in the past!

They come in a fresh scent but it smells like a baby wipe. I wish they would come in more of a soft perfume scent.

As far as cleaning, I have no complaints here. Obviously, using this product along with toilet paper makes you feel cleaner! :)

The design of the box is good looking and does not look junky in your bathroom! I put the wipes on top of my toilet next to a chest I have with beauty products in it.

Have you tried these out yourself yet? If not there have been coupons recently in the Sunday newspaper for when you purchase the wipes along with Cottonelle toilet paper! Go get you some!

Food Should Taste Good Review

I had the pleasure of trying out some of the Food Should Taste Good Chips. The flavors I tried were Lime Tortilla Chips, Sweet Potato Kettle Cooked Chips, Multigrain Potato Chips, and Sweet Potato Tortilla chips. All of the chips are Certified Kosher and Certified Gluten Free.

I was wary of trying the Sweet Potato flavors since I have had bad experiences with brands in the past. However, the flavor was subtle but not too weak either.

My favorite chips were the Lime Tortilla Chips (they tasted great with Tostitos Mild Salsa!) and the Sweet Potato Kettle Cook Chips! I recommend either of these flavors to those who want to try and eat healthier but not give up snacking! All chips have no cholesterol!

These chips are sold at most grocery stores, but you can also buy them online! Let me know your favorite flavor in the comments below!

Book Review: "Articles For The Mind" by Christine Rice

As you all know I recently did a book review on Christine Rice's "Freelance Writing Guide: What to Expect in Your First Year as a Freelance Writer". I had the pleasure of reading another one of her non-fiction E-Books "Articles For The Mind".

I must say that this has been one of my favorite reads from the past few months. I love non-fiction books, especially if they are on multiple subjects. This book is set up so you can read one or all of the articles. You may skip over any section that you do not want to read, or go back to it later.

This book has something for everyone. It has interesting articles on Health, Beauty, Jobs, Education, Writing, Changing Careers, Saving on Groceries, Getting the most out of Credit Cards, Depression and Self Help, and more. However, my favorite article was the one about cats! I am always wanting to learn more about my kitties, what they need, and what they can be thinking.

If you are interested in purchasing the book on Amazon it is $3.99 for a kindle version.

If you have any non-fiction recommendations for me to read please leave them in a comment down below. Also, if you have not had a chance to read my review on Christine Rice's "Freelance Writing Guide: What to Expect in Your First Year as a Freelance Writer" be sure to check it out.

October 2013 Popsugar Must Have Box Unboxing & Review

Please watch my unboxing video and then come back and read this post :)

The Popsugar Must Have Box is a subscription box which costs $35 per month ($39.99 starting next month), BUT all the products you get are full size and the boxes are always worth more than $100! If you love getting surprises than this box is for you!.

Sorry for the terrible picture. I did not realize how bad it was until after I put all the items away and started using them.

The items in the box:

1.) The Can't Cook Book: Recipes For The Absolutely Terrified: This was a great item to add to the box, but I personally do not use cookbooks. I already have enough clutter and items around the house. If I need a recipe I look it up online. Honestly, I do not cook things out of the ordinary too often that I need a recipe for. I ended up selling the book and got about $10 for it. Value: $16.79
2.) NYX Cosmetics Liquid Liner AND Smokey Shadow Palette: Popsugar counts this as one item but this is two great items in my book! I LOVE the colors in the Smokey Shadow Palette. I will definitely be keeping these items for myself! Value: $7 for the palette and $6 for the liner.
3.) Gorjana Charity Bali Bead Bracelet: I have already worn this bracelet and it is so cute! The only thing I do not like is it does not stretch very well and is hard to get on and off. I just hope I do not break it anytime soon. $45
4.) Julep for Popsugar Duo Nail polish: I do not get the Julep box because I honestly do not need anymore nail polish. I thought that it was so cool that they collaborated with Popsugar though. I needed a top coat pretty soon anyway so that was useful and the polish is so cute for fall.  $32
5.) Jane Tran Bobby Pins: This product was just eh. I really do not use bobby pins too often and especially over sized ones. I will give this away.  $12
6.) The Wet Brush: This brush is to be used when your hair is wet. However, I will be using it all the time since I needed a new brush anyway. $14
7.) The Crispery Halloween CrispyCake: This was SO good. I got it on Friday and it was gone by the end of the weekend. A very nice treat to include in an October Box :) $3.95
8.) Stitch Fix $20 off your purchase: I do not like getting these, as you all know. They are never really gift cards since the amount never counts towards shipping even if your item is less than the amount of the gift card. However, as an extra I do not mind it in the box.

This was one of the best boxes yet! It is pretty sad that they are going up in price but I actually subscribed to the year to save me some money. However, if they continue to make boxes like this the extra cost is worth it. There was so many items in this box, much more than usual.

Total value of the box: $156.74 ($136.74 if not including the special extra "Gift Card").  This box is about average for the worth, plus we got lots of nice things. When they include less things it is more likely someone will not be happy with anything in the box.

Book Review: Freelance Writing Guide by Christine Rice

I had the pleasure of reading Christine Rice's "Freelance Writing Guide: What to Expect in Your First Year as a Freelance Writer". I found that the E-Book was very easy and fast to read and gave helpful information for writers, bloggers, and freelancers.

The book describes the ins and outs on how your first year as a Freelance Writer will most likely go. You are all writers even  if you are not making money for writing. Everyone will have to write a resume at some point (unless you pay someone to do it for you) and this book gives great advice on what to include in your resume and how to write a cover letter.

If you consider yourself a poor writer I would suggest reading this book. Writing is not all about creativity. Everyone needs to know how to formerly write a business letter and to hold the attention of the person that will be reading it.

If you are interested in purchasing the book on Amazon it is $4.99 for a kindle version, or $14.24 (plus shipping if you are not a prime member) for a paperback version.

Christine Rice publishes her books independently. She currently has published five books and is currently working on three other books."Freelance Writing Guide: What to Expect in Your First Year as a Freelance Writer" was her first non-fiction book,

You can also check out this great article written by Ferry Vermeulen: Technical Writing Tools: The Ultimate Choice of 83 Expects (2018 Update). This article provides great information from leading expects on the best technical writing tools out there today.

October 2013 Birchbox Unboxing and Review.

View my Unboxing Video and then come back and read my post :)

Overall thoughts: I give this box a 4/5. It was not one of my favorite boxes but had good sample sizes included. What I did not like was I found out after filming that the Liz Earle Cloth and Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser were two separate samples. I feel that this is a rip off considering you need the cloth to use the Hot Cloth Cleanser. So even though the products are great, this is why I can not give it 5 stars.

Inside the box is:

1.) Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation | This is a super teeny sample. I guess we graduated from getting perfume samples to getting another type of sample at a similar size.  Full size, $38

2.)  Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser  | Super excited to check this out and see how well it works for my skin. Full size, $21.50

3.) Liz Earle Pure Muslin Cloth | Still upset that this was considered a separate sample and not included with the sample above! I will forever hold a grudge! Full Size, $6

4.) POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer | Full Size item! But the gloss is not very pigmented. I will still use it though.  Ful Size, $14

5.) Chapstick Hydration Lock | This Chapstick is supposed to last 8 hours. I will have to try this out in the winter. Full size item, woohoo!  Full Size, $2.99

Is this box worth $10: The POP Beauty and Chapstick were full size items, and the Liz Earle Cleanser is a great size trial item so yes worth way more than $10.
Is this box worth my $10: It is worth it. I am not unhappy with this box. I consider myself getting 4 items and two of them being full size. However, as I previously mentioned I do not think its cool that the cloth was a separate item. Though the cloth may be sold separate from the cleansers anyway.

Disclaimer: These opinions are my own and I was not asked, nor do I get compensation, to review the box or these items.

If you would like to sign up for the Beauty Box yourself, here is the link: https://www.birchbox.com?raf=l4w14

HannahMax Cookie Chips Review

I first found out about the HannahMax Cookie Chips through a Popsugar Must Have Box which had a small bag of the cookie chips to try. After first bite I was in love. HannahMax was kind enough to send me a sampler pack which included 1 package of each flavor of cookie chips.

The Cookie Chips included in the sampler pack are: Chocolate Chip, Cinnamon Sugar, Original, Sea Salted Peanut Butter, and Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip (not pictured). The Sampler packs goes for $29.95 for a pack of five on the HannahMax website. The price may seem steep but all prices include shipping and these cookies are totally worth the extra couple dollars per bag.

The Cookie Chips are made with all natural ingredients including real eggs! They have no artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, trans fats, or GMOs. Bet you can't say the same about your cheaper pack of cookies!

My favorite thus far has been the Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip, though all of them taste wonderful. Now through October 15th you can get the multipack of cookies at Buy 1 Get 1 Free at crunchycookiechips.com using coupon code "BDAY". That is 10 bags of cookies for $29.95! Only $2.99 per bag!

Disclosure: I was provided with product for review purposes. I was not compensated for this post and as always all opinions are my own.

Skinactives Acne Line Review

At Skin Actives you are able to make a profile on their website which helps you customize your skin care line. Everyone has different needs so one product that may work well for you may not work well for someone else. Skin Actives allows you to " Choose from over one hundred actives and take advantage of our incredible knowledge base.".

I have been using the Salicylic Wash along with the Vitamin A Cream and the Zit Ender spot treatment gel. After a month of use, my face looks so much better. Of course I am still getting the occasional zit, but the Zit Ender zaps that in half over night.

My favorite product has been the Vitamin A Cream. This not only reduced the amount of pimples that I have but it also brightened up my skin. The line made my skin look healthier overall.

I will definitely be using products from Skin Actives down the road and I recommend you check out their site if you are having skincare problems. They really do have products for everyone.
