Influenster e.l.f VoxBox Review

I recently received a box of goodies complimentary from Influenster to review. Take a look below to see what I got and my review on the products. If you want me to send you an invite so you can sign up and get free products yourself please leave your email in the comments section below.

1.) Hydrating Bubble Mask: $14 - The mask worked really well at making skin feel clean and moisturized. To dispense the product you push on the top of the container- less is more when doing this! I kept pushing because it seemed like so little was coming out but then a lot came out. I suggest using a little amount and then adding more if needed. I ended up wasting a bit but this was my first time using a dispenser like this. Also, flipping it over and pushing makes the product come out faster so that is up to you to decide to do it that way or upright. When using the product it begins to bubble almost immediately after applying. It feels weird like there are little bugs on your face (ew, bad analogy, but that is how I imagine it to feel) and it sounds like rice crispy treats lol. I loved the scent the mask gave off. When applying the mask it went on white but as it bubbled it turned clear and looked like it disappeared. When taking it off it was easy to remove it a quick go- it was not like other masks where it sort of spreads even more. Overall afterwards my face felt very clean and baby skin soft. I found this mask to work just as well as other masks that cost 4x the cost so this is my new go to.

2.) Mineral Infused Primer: $6 - I am in love with this primer. It is definitely one of my new favorite products. It is affordable and works like a high end primer. The primer is easy to pump out of the package and it is easy to blend to cover all areas needed. I can see a difference in both my makeup lasting all day and not rubbing off as well as my makeup not caking up at all. CVS had a really good extra buck deal on e.l.f products so I already picked up 2 of these.

3.) Lip Exfoliator: $3- This exfoliator worked great for my lips. It smelled minty and had a nice texture like sugar. It was easy to apply thanks to be in a lipstick form and it was easy to rub off after using. My lips were definitely softer and it helped improve the longevity of my lip color and also prevented that cracking look.

4.) Matte Lip Color: $3 - I received the wine shade and I thought it was the perfect color for this time of year. It was a true red wine (almost maroon) looking color. I used it after using the lip exfoliator and it stayed on even through drinking and eating. I was impressed with how well the product worked considering its low cost.

5.) Baked Highlighter & Bronzer: $4 - I am all about shortening my beauty routine, when possible, and this product helped. This product has a highlighter and bronzer in one package and you just swirl your blush brush with the two together and apply it. I liked the little bit of highlight that it gave me and how the bronzer made my cheek bones stick out a bit more.

I always knew of the e.l.f brand but it was never my go-to drugstore brand as I thought it was more of a cheaper brand for younger girls. After using these products I was proven wrong. These products perform just as well as any drugstore brand even though those products are double the price. I did not have a bad experience with any of the products but the hero of the box, for me, has to be the Primer as I was looking for an affordable primer. Paying $20 for a primer was not working for me anymore so I am glad that I found one that worked just as well for less than half the price.

If you have any further questions on any of the products listed above feel free to leave them in the comments section below and I will do my best to answer them. Once again, if you want to sign up for Influenster to get free boxes leave your email below and I will send you an invite.

December 2016 SweetsGiftBox Review & [COUPON CODE]!!

Please watch my unboxing video and then come back and read this post :)

From the makers of PetGiftBox, SweetsGiftBox is a monthly treat subscription box that includes sweets like gourmet cookies and chocolates and artisan candies and treats. Each box contains 4-5 goodies. This is a new subscription box and the first box ships in December. You can sign up for a one time box or a month to month subscription at www.sweetsgiftbox.com.  A one time box costs $30 and a month to month subscription (you can cancel any time) costs $25 per box.

If you want to try this out for yourself you can use the coupon code 'codyandkaci' at checkout to get 50% off your first box! To sign up or find out more info visit www.sweetsgiftbox.com

The items in the box:

This months theme: Taste The Season

1.) Fatty Sundays Chocolate Covered Pretzels & Peppermint:I am a huge chocolate covered pretzel fan and I love peppermint so these were hands down my favorite item and needless to say they are all gone already. They came with 5 in the box. You need to eat these over a dish since they were super messy with crumbs everywhere, but the messier the tastier- am I right?! $7

2.) Salem Baking Co. Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies: These are so good! They are chocolate chip cookies with a hint of Caramel and Sea salt. They are crunchy cookies but were not hard nor soft. They were the perfect medium for chewing. $5.99

3.) Funky Chunky Sea Salt Caramel Popcorn: I am a huge popcorn person! I love any type of Popcorn. This mix was so good. It is popcorn topped with chocolate, caramel, cashews, and sea salt. I am not going to lie the caramel does get stuck in your teeth but it tastes oh so delicious. If you have ever tried Harry & David's Moose Munch it is similar to that. $3.50

4.) Shriver's Peppermint Salt Water Taffy: I am not a taffy person, but that is okay as I can use these to throw into someone's Christmas stocking. Sometimes it is worth getting things in subscription boxes that you do not personally want since you can add them to gifts! They included 5 of these. I am not sure of the value since Taffy is charged per pound it seems like. $?

5.) Madyson's Marshmallows Hot Cocoa Cane: We are not coffee drinkers so we drink a lot of tea and hot chocolate! The package was not clear on how much hot chocolate to use so I did two heaping tablespoons and it was perfect. I also cut the marshmallows in half as they only gave us 2 huge marshmallows and the mix would make more than 2 cups. Even though this is a hot chocolate set the company's main product is their marshmallows and boy are they soo good! It really added a lot of flavor to the hot cocoa. $6.65 (sold as a set of 3 for $19.95)

Total Value: $23.14+ This value does not include the Taffy since I personally do not know the value of that and the info card does not list prices. However, as you can see the value of the box is pretty close, if not exceeding, the cost of the monthly subscription. The cost is so worth it if you like to try out new treats or like to gift treats and make gift baskets as gifts like I do. The value is on par if not better than other food subscription boxes out there. Like I said this is their first box as this is a new subscription service. I think they nailed it and the treats included were perfect for December. I am excited to see how they continue to grow.

To sign up go here: www.sweetsgiftbox.com and do not forget to use coupon code "codyandkaci" to get 50% off your first box. * This code also works for PetGiftBox

SweetsGiftBox sent me a complimentary box for review. All opinions are my own and I do not recommend any products or services that I would not use myself. No other compensation was received.

November 2016 PetGiftBox Review & [COUPON CODE]!!

Please watch my unboxing video and then come back and read this post :)

PetGiftBox is a monthly subscription box for, you guessed it, your pet! They offer a cat box (which is the one I am reviewing) and they also offer a dog box (which has 3 selections based on the size of your dog). The boxes cost $18.99/month for a yearly subscription, $20.99/month for a 6 month subscription, $23.99/month for a 3 month subscription, or you can pay monthly and the cost is $28.99/month. You can also purchase a one time box if you would like to send one as a gift.

Each box contains between 4 and 6 items that are hand picked by the PetGiftBox team. The items in the box can include treats, toys, and other home items.

My cats love getting these boxes! It is a nice treat for them to get some new toys and goodies!

If you want to get your own box for your pet you can use the coupon code 'codyandkaci' at checkout to get 50% off your first box! To sign up or find out more info visit www.petgiftbox.com

Luke wants first dibs on the box!

The items in the box:

This months theme: Giving Thanks

1.) Thanksgiving Turkey Toy:All three of my cats absolutely love playing with this toy. My cats are 1, 4, and 9 so this is a fun toy for all ages! The fact that it looks so real and has feathers that move when you wave it around attracts the cats. This is our big hit in the box. $10-$15

2.) + 3.) Presidential Parody Cat Toy (Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton): I am grouping these 2 items together in the review since they are pretty much the same even though they are two separate toys. I think they are so funny! They have cat nap inside of them so the cats love to lick and lay on them. For some reason Hilary is more desired by the cats. Maybe they do not like trumps hair lol. $9.99 each

4.)Pet House Car Freshener in Pumpkin Spice: This cute air freshener is in the shape of a paw. The Pumpkin Spice scent is perfect for this time of year. I love how they sometimes include things for the person inside this box. It is a nice treat since it does not happen in each months box. I have not opened this yet since I am unsure if I want to keep it for myself or gift it since it is an awesome stocking or gift basket stuffer! $2.99

Total Value: $32.97-$37.97 Like last month's box this box only included 4 items (they promise 4-6). In the past couple months they have not included any cat treats so if they threw them inside this box it would have been a nice rounded out box at 5 items. However, this box included one of our favorite items ever featured in a PetGiftBox - the turkey toy! - so overall we are happy with the box.

Note* They accidentally included a dog info card instead of a cat info card in the box so values/exact names of product may be off this month.

The items in the box:

This months theme: Kitty-Cat Nap

1.) Petstages Soothe Kitty Cuddle Pal: The cats are a huge fan of this toy! It has Buckwheat inside that helps calm down the cats. Seems to work unless they try to steal the toy from each other lol. This can be microwaved to also provide warmth but I have been afraid to try that as I do not want the toy to smell. $9.99

2.) Petstages Quiet Glow Play Pair Balls: These are glow in the dark soft fabic balls and the cats absolutely love these. You can see that they glow in the dark but it is just enough glow for the cats. They are no like glow sticks or anything intense. $7.99

3.) Hand Held Massager: Kaci is a fan of this one. She is a long haired cat so this is perfect for her since it is not too rough on her. It is not electronic, you do all the work with your hand but believe me the cat won't mind :)! $12.99

4.) Fou Sitck Calm: Kaci is not a fan of Luke since he is young and wants to pay and she is not impressed with Vince (a cat we are fostering) but I rub this lavender scented stick on her neck and it does seem to calm her down in terms of less growling and hissing! $7.99

Total Value: $38.95 For some this box might be a miss since there are fewer items in it than normal but for us this is one of our favorite boxes ever as we are using all the items. The calm items and the massager really help out Kaci and the toys are loved by all 3 cats so this box was a huge it.

Sheba Meaty Tender Sticks Review

Influenster sent my cats the Sheba Meaty Tender Sticks with Chicken to test out.

These meaty sticks are a new type of cat treat from the Sheba brand. They are made with real chicken and no filler ingredients! My cats absolutely loved these. My girl cat is pretty picky at times and she could not get enough.

These meaty sticks are pretty big so you have to make sure to rip them into pieces. Some cats may want my play with them and lick them but my one year old kitty shoved the whole thing right into his mouth so I make sure to rip them up first. On top of my cats loving the taste another great thing about these is that you can open one up and save it. I did not want to give my cats the whole stick at once so I ripped a few pieces off, put it back in the package, and days later it was still soft.

For more information about Sheba and their meaty sticks you can visit the Sheba website. They often feature coupons for their products. If you are interested in the meaty sticks they are available at many stores including Target. Target will be having a cartwheel coupon the week of 10/16/16 so make sure to download the app so you can use the coupon! You can use it along with this $1 off Sheba Meaty Stick coupon (exp 10/30/16) to save even more money. Your cats will thank you!

Lo and behold check out our unboxing video:

I received a sample to test from Influenster but all opinions are my own. If you would like to check out what Influenster is about or sign up to receive free products to test out yourself: influenster.com

The items in the box:

This months theme: Wine & Cheese

1.) Coco-Cheese Catnip Treats: These treats taste like coconut, cheese, and catnip. Both of my cats were interested in these. They were a bit big so I had to break them a part for them to eat. They seemed like they liked them so they will get these on special occasions :) $10.99

2.) Pinot Meow Cat Wine: This is a wine for cats! It is made out of catnip and beets. We have not tried this yet since we are currently indulging in cat milk but I am interested in seeing if they would like this. $3.99

3.) Meow Merlot Treats: We have had this brand of soft cat treats before just a different flavor. Luke was a fan and Kaci was not. The bummer this time around is that the treats expire on 10/22/16 which does not give us enough time to use them since we already have a bag of treats opened. Luke will probably have a few of these before then but otherwise they will be wasted unfortunately. I do not know why we were given treats with less than a month to use them, it must have been a mistake. $4.99

4.) Scratching Board: This board is so cute and has little mice eating cheese on the sides of it. My cats love their scratchers and this one includes cat nip! $10.99

5.) Spot Colorful Springs: Luke loves these types of toys! Anything that bounces and that I can play along with him is a hit. This is a 10 pack so we do not have to worry about them getting lost since we have so many! $2.99

Total Value: $33.95 This was a great box value wise. I can not rate it as one of our favorites just because one of the packages of treats we have to toss soon and the wine might be a hit or miss. However, the scratcher was a HUGE hit and Luke loves his new spring toys!

The items in the box:

This months theme: A game of cat and mouse

1.) Petstages Madcap Stand Up Mouse: This is Kaci's favorite toy from the box. This is a soft toy filled with catnip that she loves to wrestle with. It has a cute little riddle on it too! $5.99

2.) Spot Mouse Chase Electronic Cat Toy: Luke loves this! It is a motion activated circling mouse that also has a laser beam. It has a scratch pad on top of the toy too which Luke loves stepping on when he is going after the mouse. This toy did not include batteries but PetGiftBox was nice enough to throw in a pack. $23.99 + $4.00 for batteries

3.) Companion Catnip Candy Mice: These are two small mice made out of canip. The cats love to lick these. Surprisingly they are not broken yet, usually hard cat nip balls get broken in seconds. $4.99

4.) Super Kitty Boinks: This is an interactive toy between you and your cat. You hold them and launch them out of your hand, it is a very fun bonding experience. The cats enjoy these. I do not leave them out when I am not playing with them since they are made of braided nylon and will get shredded easily. $4.99

5.) Feline Harvest Dental Treats: The cats can not get enough treats, especially dental treats! Luke has very bad breath and some gingivitis so dental treats are necessary. They both love the duck flavor. $4.99

Total Value: $48.99 This value includes the batteries even though they were an extra not listed on the info card. This was such a fun box and I loved how we got a super high value electronic toy what a nice surprise. This box is worth more than double the cost of a subscription so if your cats (or dogs) need new toys often then this subscription is for you! The cats are still enjoying playing with all their new toys.

Luke and his new fave toy.

The items in the box:

This months theme: 4th of July

1.) Dr. Daniel's Catnip Toy for Cats: Kaci is obsessed with this toy. She loves any toys filled with cat nip. I did take the blue ribbon off of this toy just because I was paranoid about the cats getting it off themselves and choking on it. $2.99

2.) Spot Kitty Fun Bopper: This is a plastic mesh toy with a foam ball attached that lights up when you bounce it. Luke loves the flashing lights. This toy will not last long though as he has already started ripping apart the plastic. $3.93

3.) Petstages Green Magic Dynamite: This is Kaci's favorite item in the box. She loves grabbing the toy and licking it. She also likes to sleep on it (weird, I know lol) and then she smells like cat nip after. $3.49

4.) Multi Pet Sparkle Ball: This toy is not getting much use yet since they are obsessed with the cat nip toys and the flashing lights, but don't worry they will notice all the feathers on this toy soon. $4.59

5.) Buddy Biscuits Grain Free Cat treats: Both the cats love these soft treats. These are made in the USA with real chicken and vegetables and are grain and gluten free. The cats love getting treats and these are easy to chew for Kaci since she has a small mouth. $2.99

Total Value: $17.99 Value wise this is probably one of the lowest boxes that we have received but the cats enjoy everything in the box so there is nothing that will be wasted. Also a lot of the toys are on sale on chewy.com so the value is based on sale prices so these would cost you a bit more with shipping and/or buying it in store anyway. The cats loved this box so for that reason it is worth the cost.

Kaci hogging all the toys.

June 2016 PetGiftBox Review & [COUPON CODE]!!

Please watch my unboxing video and then come back and read this post :)

PetGiftBox is a monthly subscription box for, you guessed it, your pet! They offer a cat box (which is the one I am reviewing) and they also offer a dog box (which has 3 selections based on the size of your dog). The items in the box:

This months theme: Gone Fishing

1.) Petstages Crunch & Wrestle Fish: The cats usually love toys to kick but they have not really played with this toy yet. I have left it around but they seem to be checking out the other toys instead. $6.53

2.) Loving Pets Purrfectly Natural Shrimp Cat Treats: These were a huge hit! Anything fish flavored Kaci is addicted too and these are small and easy to eat! $2.44

3.) SmartyKat Tackle Fish Catnip Toy: This is for sure the favorite item in the box. Both cats love this toy but Luke is obsessed with it. He likes to grab the fish barbels ("whiskers"). I am not sure if they smell catnip in it as they do not go crazy like other catnip toys but they do love to play with this one. $4?

4.) Charming  Snapcat Toy: Kaci loves getting hit with the tail of this toy and then goes crazy with it. Her 2nd favorite item in the box. $10

5.) Amigo Cat Toy: This is Luke's 2nd favorite item in the box. He likes to grab and bite the rope type material and this toy is easy to throw around and chase for him. $5?

Total Value: $27.97 (based on estimated values, I could not find some of the exact products online. Still way worth it if you subscribe to a length based subscription)

The cats love when the boxes have a bunch of toys in them. Not all toys will be a hit so when there are a large variety of them I know that each cat will find something they like in the box. Any small treats are also a hit since Kaci has a "delicate mouth" and does not like large treats. She is a little princess.

The items in the box:

This months theme: Candy Shop

2.) Imperial Cat Cat 'n Around Ice Cream Cone Refillable Catnip Toy: This cute refillable toy came with a package of catnip (score!). They love smelling the catnip out of this toy. $9.99

3.) Pawbreaker: This is a catnip ball that is edible and is fresh USA grown organic catnip. Luke is actually a fan of this. He likes to bat it around and broke off a part of it before even getting it out of the package. $5.39

4.) PetCandy Nips: Kaci also loves this catnip filled toy as well. She likes to hold it and lick it! This toy is filled with farm-fresh catnip. $6.93

5.) Authority Salmon Dental Cat Treats: Both cats love these and Luke actually needed dental treats since he has a bit of gingivitis. These treats are grain and gluten free and help reduce plaque and tarter buildup. $2.99

Total Value: $34.13 (Well over the cost of the box and almost double the cost if you have the yearly subscription)

Kaci loved this box and Luke enjoyed it also. They both enjoyed every single item in the box so none of the items will be going to waste at all! These boxes are nice to get as gifts for your pet and especially helpful when you are unsure what types of toys to pick out for them.

Purex plus Clorox 2 Detergent Review & GIVEAWAY

Review:

The latest detergent I have been using is the new Purex plus Clorox 2 Detergent. This detergent is safe for colors (bleach free) and I have noticed that my colors are a bit more brighter than when using the original Purex Detergent. It is called "Clorox 2" because it contains an extra powerful boost of Clorox 2 Stain Fighters. Though, luckily, I have not had any stains on my clothes to remove, this detergent is supposed to remove 100 stains including: Chocolate, Tomato Sauce, Grass, Blood, Ice Cream, BBQ Sauce and more.

This detergent comes in 2 scents: Original Fresh and Sunny Linen.  I tested the original fresh and the smell on your clothes afterwards is pretty much on par with other Purex Detergents. Some do not like how strong they can be but for me I like to know my clothes are clean. This detergent gets an A in my book!

Giveaway:

One lucky reader will receive 2 coupons for a FREE bottle of Purex Liquid or Powder Detergent! See the Rafflecopter below. All entries are optional but the more you do the better chance you have of winning.

April 2016 PetGiftBox Review & [COUPON CODE]!!

The items in the box:

This months theme: Howdy Partner

1.) Multipet Boot Catnip Filled Toy: Anything filled with catnip is a hit in this house!  $2.99

2.) Multipet Hat Catnip Filled ToyAlso filled with catnip but this toy is not as easy for Kaci to grab as the Boot toy. $2.99

3.) From the Field “Chewy” the Hemp Rope: This rope is "marinated" inside of a bag filled with catnip so this is very strong and Kaci went crazy for this! This is Kaci's favorite item in the box. $2.99

4.) Pet Gift Box Cowboy Crunch Treats: Kaci has a small mouth and these treats were on the larger side so she was not a fan of these.

5.) Petgreens Medley Self Grow Pet Grass: We got a bag of grass to grow like this in a box last year. We will try it again and see how much Kaci eats of it. It really depends on her mood on any given day, lol.  $3.99

Total Value: $20+ depends on the value of the treats, they were a large bag.

Kaci really enjoyed this box! The only thing she did not like are the treats but she enjoyed all of the catnip toys! We will also be trying out the grass so hopefully that will be a nice treat for her. The biggest hit in the box was the Chewy the Hemp Rope! The value of the box may be off since there were no prices listed on the info card so the prices are guesstimates based on web searches. I would have not found and picked up that item while out shopping so these boxes are worth the investment.

St. Ives Body Scrub and Body Lotion Review

Influenster sent me the St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Body Scrub and the St. Ives Refresh & Revive Pear Nectar & Soy Body Lotion to test out.

I love my bath products to have fruity scents so this is the perfect paring for me! The Body Scrub worked well at making my skin smooth but also did not irritate my skin in any way. I loved the Apricot smell and it was quick and easy to use in the shower. I liked that the Body Lotion was non-greasy, rubbed in easily, and the fresh but subtle Pear smell was great! Both products helped keep my skin moisturized.

I have always known of the St. Ives brand but it was never one I was particularly drawn to. I am sure I have used it in the past when I was a kid but I have not purchased it as an adult. Now I will since I had an amazing experience with both products. These products only cost around $5 at Target and look to be even cheaper if you purchase on Jet.com with apparently is the up-and-coming Amazon competition!

You can check out the St. Ives product page for more detailed information. All St. Ives products are made with 100% natural exfoliants and are paraben-free, hypo-allergenic and are dermatologist tested.

I received a sample to test from Influenster but all opinions are my own. If you would like to check out what Influenster is about or sign up to receive free products to test out yourself: influenster.com

The items in the box:

This months theme: Tabby Chic

1.) Meowtinis Treats: We have not opened these yet since we have two bags of treats opened currently but these are ocean white fish and green olive flavored which sounds interesting. They are also soft treats which Kaci will love! $5.99

2.) Shabby Chic Flower & Feather Ball Toy: The description on the card says these are balls but we got 2 mice so I am sure it depends on the box you get. Nonetheless she likes to bite these mice when I dangle them over her. $7.99

3.) Luxurious Caterpillar Wand: This is our favorite item in the box. There are 2 soft balls and one pom pom ball attached on a string. A perfect toy for me to drag around and have her chase after! $7.99

4.) Shabby Chic Cute Cuddler: These is a long toy filled with catnip that cats like to wrestle with. Kaci has not showed much interest for this one yet but once she gets bored of the other toys she might go to this one! $8.99

5.) Pillow Puff Tabbie Half Moon: This is a little catnip scented pillow. This is another big hit and has a bell attached so she likes playing with it and hearing the sound! $4.99

Total Value: $35.95

The box was a little lower in value than usual but still had a great amount of items in it. I loved how cute the items are and that a couple of the toys were pink and white (perfect spring colors)! This box appealed to Kaci since there were lots of toys and a bag of treats!
