Review: Maple Holistics Argan Oil Shampoo & FREE SAMPLE

I recently was sent this Argan Oil Special Formula Shampoo from Maple Holistics.

I have never used an argan oil shampoo before but have heard a lot of great things about argan oil. The shampoo made my hair feel really soft and smooth and made my hair look shinier and livelier! I also noticed less frizz when using this shampoo. I really enjoyed the scent of this product also. It was a soft vanilla scent and smelled great both in the shower and on my hair for a while afterwards. The shampoo lathered very well which is pretty much a necessity for me. This is my new favorite shampoo and is one of my favorite beauty finds of 2017!

This argan oil shampoo contains six oils that are effective for hair and scalp health. Some of the benefits for using this shampoo are: preventing hair loss, making hair more manageable, nourishes the hair and scalp, and improving damaged hair.

All of their products are made in the USA and they strongly promote cruelty free advocacy. None of their products will ever contain ingredients that are tested on animals. If you purchase this shampoo through their website a $1 of each bottle sold will go to The National Coalition against Domestic Violence.

Maple Holistics is offering you a FREE SAMPLE of one of their products. They have tons to choose from, even pet shampoo! CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE SAMPLE FORM. Once you fill out the sample form you will get a confirmation email. In the confirmation email it will let you know how to enter a giveaway for a full size product also!

October 2017 PetGiftBox Cat Review & [COUPON CODE]!!

Please watch my unboxing video and then come back and read this post :)

PetGiftBox is a monthly subscription box for, you guessed it, your pet! They offer a cat box (which is the one I am reviewing) and they also offer a dog box (which has 3 selections based on the size of your dog). The boxes cost $25 per month. You can also purchase a one time box if you would like to send one as a gift. Like other boxes, PetGiftBox does have a rewards program where you can earn points for free products and boxes. Also, every purchase helps feed 10 rescue pets!

Each box contains between 4 and 6 items that are hand picked by the PetGiftBox team. The items in the box can include treats, toys, and other helpful pet supplies.

My cats love getting these boxes! It is a nice treat for them to get some new toys and goodies!

If you want to get your own box for your pet you can use the coupon code 'codyandkaci' at checkout to get 50% off your first box! To sign up or find out more info visit www.petgiftbox.com

The items in the box:

This months theme: Trick or Treat

1.) Crochet Kitty Bat Wand Toy: All three of my cats absolutely love this toy. It is a well made handmade etsy cat toy, and it is a fun toy for me to play with my cats with. It is also the perfect length (not too long or too short) to play with. $10

2.) Halloween Candy Corn Kicker: This toy was made from another etsy shop (Mauve Moose). This is a catnip filled kicker toy. It has feathers on top and the print of the toy is candy corn. My cats are obsessed with this since it is filled with catnip. They are non-stop licking it.  $6

3.) Petest Vibrating Kitty Toy: Unfortunately this toy broke as soon as I pulled on the string to make it vibrate. For this reason we can not really rate it in terms of cat use due to the fact that my cats can not use it. It is very cute though. I could not find a price on this toy so this is just an estimate. $8.99

4.) Ellie Baba Designs Spider Cat Teaser Toy: This toy is also from an etsy shop. My cats are in love with this toy also. They go crazy over the fact that it has legs (made from ribbon) and resembles a real spider. $6.00

5.) Vital Essentials Vital Cat Freeze Dried Ahi Tuna Treats: These treats are on the healthier side (compared to other treats like temptations) so obviously my cats noticed that. They still ate them though. They seemed to like the Tuna taste. I just hope due to the health factor that they will not get bored of them...time will tell. Size of the treats were perfect. $4.43

Total Value: $35.42 Price wise the cost of the products in the box is well over the cost of the box (even if the price of the vibrating toy ended up being less). Value wise the cost of this box is WELL worth it. My cats are obsessed with the wand toy, spider toy, and the kicker. It is a shame they can not use the vibrating toy but I feel like they are very happy with what they received. Treats are always welcomed around here also and with three cats one is typically always bound to enjoy them. The theme of the box was very cute and perfect for October and Halloween. All of the etsy toys are well made and are huge hits.

Review: Maple Holistics Tea Tree Oil Shampoo & FREE SAMPLE

I recently was sent this Tea Tree Special Formula Shampoo from Maple Holistics.

This Tea Tree shampoo is sulfate free and contains over 98 all natural compounds to promote scalp heath, clear away dead skin, and soothe scalp blemishes. Even though this shampoo is sulfate free it lathers very well. Since the shampoo lathers well you do not need a lot of it but they do recommended a two step process of massaging throughout scalp for a few minutes, rinsing, and then repeating.

Following that process this shampoo made my scalp feel much healthier. My scalp was less oily than it normally is and I noticed less hair loss. The downside is that I felt my hair was more frizzy than when using my previous shampoo. I used the same conditioner with this shampoo as I did with my previous shampoo so that factor was not changed. Since my hair appeared more frizzy when using this shampoo I would recommend using the pairing conditioner so that you can get the benefits of the tea tree in both the shampoo and the conditioner.

The scent was very very strong in the shower. If you like a mix of lavender and woodsy scents then you will love it! The scent was not very strong on hair after drying so if you are not into the scent you do not need to worry about it lingering after you wash your hair.

If you suffer from hair loss, itchy scalp, or dandruff than I highly recommend you try out this product (or see what other products Maple Holistics has to offer).  All of their products are made in the USA and and they strongly promote cruelty free advocacy. None of their products will ever contain ingredients that are tested on animals.

Right now this tea tree shampoo is on sale on the Maple Holistics website for $8.95 or you can purchase it on Amazon for $10.45.

Review: TANZKY Men's Leather Belt, Black Ratchet Dress Slide Belt with Automatic Buckle 35mm

I was sent my belt of choice for reviewing purposes. Obviously, this is a Men's belt so I had to recruit my boyfriend to help me with this review. We chose Style 4/Napa Leather belt.

These belts come in 17 different styles you can choose from. They fit up to a 44" waist and you cut them to size. These belts are currently on sale for $19.99 on Amazon with free prime shipping.

The width of the belt is larger than other belts my boyfriend wears but it is not physically noticeable. The buckle is also larger than what he would normally go for but the abstract design makes it attractive. The belt buckle locks in a non-traditional manner but still felt very secure when wearing. The unlocking of the buckle is cumbersome but he believes it is something he will get to use fairly quickly. The way the belt is put on and taken off prevents the wearer from bending the belt which in turn avoids wrinkles.

Overall, we would recommend this belt for yourself or to gift. What is great about it is it fits up to a 44" waist and you cut it down to size so for gifting purposes it is perfect since you do not need to know the exact size of the recipient! The belt also comes nicely wrapped up in a nice gifting box. The belt is a very attractive design and seem to be made to avoid wear and tear for longer than other brands!

Review: CAKYE Makeup Cosmetic Bag Pouch Toiletry Travel Kit Organizer

I was sent this portable makeup bag for reviewing purposes. I do not travel much but I am always in need of makeup bags to hold all the makeup I get from all of the subscription boxes that I subscribe to.

Once opened this makeup bag has a very spacious zipped area. This area fits all of the makeup that I use on a weekly and monthly basis. This area also has a small zipped side area. Behind the main makeup area there is an area that folds out in which you can store makeup brushes, lipsticks, eye liner, etc.

I chose the black color but as you can see from the photo above the makeup bag comes in six different colors. The material is a quality nylon that is waterproof and wear resistant. I think this makeup bag would be a great gift to give a makeup lover!

Review: Kinzd Money Clip Cork Fabric Leather Wallet

I recently was sent this Money Clip Cork Fabric Leather Wallet from Kinzd.

This thin money clip wallet has an ID holder on one side and on the other side has 3 credit card slots as well as a money clip. The money clip has a very strong magnet so you do not have to worry about anything falling out. There is also a little pocket in the middle for extra cards or cash.

The small size and cork fabric may be a personal preference. I personally need a huge wallet to hold my credit cards and store loyalty cards, however this is the perfect size for going out for the night or for going to an event that only requires a couple of cards to be brought. This is also a great option for a dad or grad since they do not usually carry as many cards as us women do!

I have been using this leather wallet for a couple of weeks now and it has not shown any wear and tear and it has been easy to get my cards in and out of it.

You can purchase this particular item from Kinzd website for $12.99. They have many other options as well for different types of wallets and money clips with different colors, zippers, and a lots of other features.

Kinzd was founded in 2012 and their goal is to make quality leather wallets sold at a reasonable price. You can check out more information on this product here and make sure to check out Kinzd website to see what other products they have to offer! They also have a giveaway on their website for you to win a wallet!

July 2017 PetGiftBox Review & [COUPON CODE]!!

The items in the box can include treats, toys, and other home items.

This months theme: Get the Ball Rolling

1.) Catnip Garden Kitty Sprinkles Catnip Dispensing Toy:The cats like this when they are doing their crazies in the middle of the night. Watch out though, the cat nip sprinkles out of this toy and goes everywhere! So put in in an easy to sweep/vacuum room of the house.  $4.49

2.) Kitty Teeter Feeder: This is a product I definitely wanted the cats to try in order to have them "work" for their meal. Of course it did not go as planned. They will eat the kibble out of it if it is in the center, but will not work to get it out from around the edges. Hopefully one day I can get them interested in this as feeders like these are recommended to control cats weight.  $4.47

3.) Petstages Kitty Chew Wheel: My cats like to chew on this toy. It is a good toy for dental health so I try to get them interested in it as much as possible. $3.99

4.) Spot Lattice Balls: These are colorful plastic balls that make noise. This is the most used item from this box as Luke is obsessed with these balls and plays with them on a daily basis. We love getting ball toys! $1.72

Total Value: $14.67 The box value is a lot less than the cost of the box and much lower value than the box usually is. All of these prices are estimated though and the box probably could be worth a bit more since a lot of the toys were on a current sale. No treats in this months box so if those were included the price would be a little bit higher. Still overall a great box considering that all of the items are actually getting used around here. Plus you have to factor in shipping for these items since these are online prices (prices were not included on the info card this month).

Tree Hut Exfoliating Mud Mask Review

In my Splash Voxbox from Influenster I received the Tree Hut Exfoliating Mud Mask to test out and review.

I really loved this Exfoliating Mud Mask from Tree Hut. I love Charcoal masks, I feel they do a great job at cleansing pores and pulling out all the junk. This one smelled really nice and it was pretty fast to use- dried in about 10 minutes and easy to wash off with just warm water. Skin felt clean and refreshed after use!

I have heard of the Tree Hut brand before but am not sure if I have tried any of their products in the past. I love that is mask is free from parabans, formaldehyde donors, petroleum, phthalates, sulfates, DEA, and mineral oil. This product is made in the U.S.A!

You can check out the Tree Hut Exfoliating Mud Mask Product Page for more detailed information about the mask, and take a look around at their other products. The Hydrating Overnight Mask is next on my list to try.

I received a sample to test from Influenster but all opinions are my own. If you would like to check out what Influenster is about or sign up to receive free products to test out yourself: influenster.com

Influenster Splash VoxBox Review

I recently received a box of goodies complimentary from Influenster to review. Take a look at my unboxing video below to see what I got. Underneath the video is my review on all of the products I received. If you want me to send you an invite so you can sign up and get free products yourself please leave your email in the comments section below.

Great box filled with great items! See reviews below and check past posts for some more detailed reviews.

1.) Tree Hut's Exfoliating Mud Mask: $14.99 for 2.9oz  - I really loved this Exfoliating Mud Mask from Tree Hut. I love Charcoal masks, I feel they do a great job at cleansing pores and pulling out all the junk. This one smelled really nice and it was pretty fast to use- dried in about 10 minutes and easy to wash off with just warm water. Skin felt clean and refreshed after use!

2.) Nature's Origin Roll On: $6.99 - I liked the lavender scent and how easy it was to roll on. Sometimes with roll on products the ball does not move easily and it is a pain to apply the amount you want but the ball moved so gracefully with this roll on. I put it on my wrists and it absorbed quickly. The scent did help me relax and stress less but I was hoping to have better quality of sleep since lavender has been known for that but so far I have not seen that while using this product. Still worth using if you like the scent and want to calm down a bit.

3.) Mike and Ike Sour-Licious Zours: $1.39- I still prefer the regular Mike and Ike to these sour ones but these were still pretty good. They were sort of like sour patch kids where you only taste the sour at the first couple of chews and then after that they are sweet. Overall good flavors but my favorite one was the pink ones!

4.) Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink: $9.49 - I really love the color of the "Lover" shade. It is really a beautiful matte color and would go with just about any outfit/event you are going to. It does last on lips a long time, it does not even come off with a paper towel. That is the downfall of the product in my opinion. I love that it really lasts on lips but it was a HUGE pain to get off. The makeup remover wipes removed it a bit but also spread it around so it looks like you have monkey mouth, I had to use soap and water to get it off completely and after the hassle my lips hurt and needed chapstick. LOVE the color, but the staying power is TOO strong for a regular day for me. If I am going to an event then I would absolutely wear this though.

5.) Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Tapioca Dry Shampoo: $7 for 7oz - This dry shampoo smells so good! I did not even need to use perfume with this. It smelled like some type of brown sugar or baked good. I felt it also did help with volume so if you are looking for a volumizing dry shampoo than this is a good one.

6.) Sinful Colors #Pride Collection Featuring Era Istefi: $1.99 - I was skeptical at first on how this clear polish with sparkles would look on my nails but it deposited just the right amount of sparkle on my nails. Since it is clear you can not really see where it has chipped off so this could easily last on my nails about a month or so (going on week two right now) before needing to take it off.

I really enjoyed trying all the products in this box. It was a good mix of makeup and skincare items and was happy to get a candy item. I love when Influenster sends the boxes with a variety of brands to try and complete activities for.

If you have any further questions on any of the products listed above feel free to leave them in the comments section below and I will do my best to answer them. Once again, if you want to sign up for Influenster to get free boxes leave your email below and I will send you an invite.

The items in the box:

This months theme: Kitty's London Adventure

1.) Petstages Big Ben Kicker:This type of toy is always a favorite among the cats. They love grabbing and kicking toys like this. $6.99

2.) Petstages Britain Kitten Value Pack: This is a 3 pack of toys and the cats love all of the toys included as 2/3 have cat nip in them. Their favorite one is the toy in shape of a tea bag.  $6.99

3.) Petsport Kitty Freak: Other than messing with the feather they have not played with this toy as much as the others yet, but I enjoy how cute it is since it is a lady bug. $5.88

4.) Petsport Catnip Balls: These are little tennis balls, they are supposed to smell like catnip but all I smell is new tennis ball smell. They are cute but my cats do not seem to want to play with them so we will probably donate these to a shelter as kittens would probably love these! $5.51

5.) Meowtinis Cat Treats: We have received these treats before and the cats really enjoy them. They are soft treats so they are easy to chew. $5.15

Total Value: $30.52 This box had a great assortment of items. My cats enjoyed most of the items and the value is over the cost of the box so this is another great box. My cats actually do get excited when these boxes come, they are all over them and smelling them until we open them!

Maybelline 24K Nudes VoxBox Review

I recently received a box of goodies complimentary from Influenster to review. Take a look below to see what I got and my review on the products. If you want me to send you an invite so you can sign up and get free products yourself please leave your email in the comments section below.

1.) Maybelline New York The 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette: $9.99-

I really like this palette. I feel like it has the perfect nude colors for any night or day look. I like that they have both shimmery and matte colors. Most of the colors are either a champagne or dark colors but I like that they did place a shimmery purple in there to make lids extra pretty.

I also like that the palette is on the smaller side, it can fit into your purse without taking up too much room. With that said, the shadows are perfect sized and are not too small for your eyeshadow brush.

Here are before an after photos of my look:

Before applying eyeshadow, liner, and mascara

Complete voxbox look.

2.) Maybelline New York Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil- Soft Nude: $6.99 -

I LOVE these Gel Eyeliner pencils! I got the Soft Nude shade which I do not normally use a light shade like that but I liked how it brightened up my eyes when I used it in the corners. I am going to purchase this brand as my eyeliner from now on. I typically go for crayon eyeliners but these ones are even easier to glide right on. I HATE using  regular pencil liners- they hurt my eyes when applying and I suck at pencil sharpening lol. Other colors include: Silken Turquoise, Sleek Onyx, and Polished Amethyst. Here is a photo to see the colors (photo credit: Influenster

3.) Maybelline New York The Falsies Push Up Angel Washable Mascara: $7.47 -

If I am being honest, I hated this Mascara. My eyelashes looked too spidery and this was very easy to smudge when applying. I would not buy or use this product again.

Overall, I was very impressed with this voxbox. I found a new favorite eyeliner product, and am excited to try out all the awesome eyeliner shades in comes in! The Palette had great colors that I typically use in my everyday look. The only miss for me was the mascara which I would not personally use or purchase again.

The items in the box:

This months theme: Fight Night

1.) Multipet Scratch Roller:This cardboard toy has jingle balls on the inside and comes with cat nip. Luke is a fan of this, especially when the catnip is placed in the holes! $6.99

2.) SPOT Fluttering Butterfly Mini Teaser Wand: This is the big hit in the box among all 3 cats. This is a fun toy for me to play along with them. They love catching the butterfly and of course love chewing and licking the feather too.  $6.18

3.) Spot Dura-Fused Leather Butterfly Cat Toy: The packaging says that cats love the smell of leather. My cats were interested in this for about a minute and have not touched it since. Maybe when they get sick of the other butterfly toy they will go for this one. $5.02

4.) Pet Greens Savory Salmon Treats: The cats always like this brand of treats. They are soft treats and of course salmon is a hit. $3.79

5.) Multipet Spring Mouse: This is another fun toy for the cats to play with. I would not say they go bonkers over it but they do like to bat it around at times. It is a spring toy with a soft pom pom ball as the head. $4.99

Total Value: $26.97 The value is a bit over the $25 cost of the box and like last month this box had a great assortment of items. Most of the toys were a huge hit and the treats are well welcomed by the cats as well. As far as their opinion of things I would say that they really loved this box.

The items in the box:

This months theme: Fight Night

1.) Safemade Dangler Catnip Boxing Glove Toy:The cats love any toy than tangles and that I can play with them with. This is the perfect sized toy for them to grab. $7.99

2.) Leap Tail Pillow Fashion Catnip Toy: All 3 of my cats love the tail on this toy! They must really be able to smell the catnip in it as they love licking it.  $6.99

3.) Collapsible Pet Bowl: This could be used for more than just a water bowl. If you keep it open and do not collapse it it is a decent sized Tupperware to keep food or treats in. $7.99

4.) Clean as a Whistle Wipes: These are used to clean up messes and are not to be used on your pet! I am curious though, as I could not find any info online, if these are good for carpet or only on other types of floors. If you are familiar with this product please let me know! I have not tried these yet as luckily we have not had any kitty messes to clean up. $4.99

5.) Loving Pets Purrfectly Natural Freeze Dried Chicken Treats: Best item in the box, these are loved and devoured by all 3 of my cats. Even Kaci, who is a bit picky, really loves these! There is only one ingredient: chicken. These are made from 100% all natural USA farmed and raised chicken. $4.99

Total Value: $32.95 The value is a bit over the $25 cost of the box and this box had a great assortment of items. The treats were a huge hit and I would never have thought to buy and try these for the cats by myself as I did not think all 3 of them would like them. So finding treat products they enjoy is definitely a bonus!

PetGiftBox sent me a complimentary box for review. All opinions are my own and I do not recommend any products or services that I would not use myself. No other compensation was received.
