TOM [Time of the Month] May Box Review

TomBox is a monthly subscription box which sends you 1 time of the month item, 3 beauty items, and 2 jewelry item each month for $16. They also send candy in the fall/winter but in the spring/summer this is substituted by an extra beauty item. You fill out a beauty/jewelry questionnaire so that those items are tailored to fit your profile and you choose the brand you want for the time of the month item. You can double the amount of beauty/jewelry items for an additional $6. 

Venus razors can be added to your box and you can also choose to NOT get a time of the month item in the boxes by signing up for the No Flow box if you just want beauty and jewelry items!

I loved the items in the box (both the selection of the actual item and the brands) and I also love how customized you can get with the boxes. The only thing I wish the box hard was a card describing what is in your box. Most subscription boxes have that but this one did not.

I have taken pictures of each item and tried to give you the best information I can. 

The items in the box:

For the time of the month item I chose the Always Brand.

FULL SIZE- This package retails for about $3.50

FULL SIZE- Ciga Los Angeles Sparkle Shadow. 

I could not find information about this online.

I do not use loose shadows so I will gift this.

FULL SIZE- Eyebrow Brush

No brand information on package. 

FULL SIZE- Cargo Jet Lag Concealer - $30

This concealer clicks up but it is a great brand!

FULL SIZE- Bellapierre Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Stain- $9.50

Very buildable! Love it! Can be used lightly or dramatically.

FULL SIZE- Cailyn Line Fix Gel Eyeliner- $21

Comes with its own brush. 

Sample Size- Sampar Masque 

Sample Size- Coolway Glow Oil Treatment.

These two Jewelry pieces are nice low cost pieces. 

Do not know the brand or cost. 

Since a few of the items did not have brand information I can not even begin to estimate the value of the box but it is well over the cost of the box considering that this box costs $22 and the full size items are pretty pricey. I love the selection and the amount of products you get!

The new boxes are super cute. They look like a wrapped present and it even includes their names on the top of the box! Cody could not wait to open the box!

1.) Pawbreakers Plus Vitamins: This is a solid catnip ball. The cats are still getting used to this. They are licking it but are not batting it around yet. They love sniffing it though! This product is made from top quality USA grown Catnip. Value: $3.50

2.) Multipet Cat Loofa: My cats are obsessed with catnip filled toys! This one is pretty big so they like to grab it and kick it with their feet! The catnip smell sometimes seems to wear off but when I press and twist it it seems to help because then the cats go crazy! Value: $3.99

3.) U.S Army Pet Throw: This is a very soft blanket and is the perfect size for cats! My cats love blankets and of course will fight over any new one! $14.99

4.) Patriotic Car Magnet by Imagine This: They usually include something for the pets servant (thats me!!). I do not use car magnets but I put this right on the fridge! I can never have too many magnets, there is always something that needs to be put on the fridge.  $5.99

5.) Kitty Kaviar: This is a 100% Natural High-Protein Bonito Flake Fish Treat. So far I have only given this to the cats once. Cody is in love with it and Kaci did not want it. We will see if she warms up to it. Either way it will not go to waste as Cody gobbles this right up-- he even went for Kaci's portion after she walked away from it. $8.99


Even though the pricing went up (unless you purchase the year subscription) this is still a great Pet Subscription Service! PetGiftBox supports America's Vet Dogs which is a non-profit organization that provides guide dogs for disabled veterans. These dogs also help PTSD patients at VA Hospitals. It is great to see a company that is helping the community.

Overall thoughts: I give this box a rating of 4/5. Even though I received a full size item the other samples were pretty small, and one was a perfume. I like the box and am not unhappy with it but do not want to rank it as one of my favorites. 

Inside the box is:

1.) Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Day Tint | Every sample that I have received from Dr. Jart has been great, including this one. This is a day tint but it has the coverage of a BB Cream so you do not need much else just some concealer on trouble spots. Even though it is a tiny tube you can get quite a few uses out of it. Full size, $48

2.) Harvey Prince Sea Salt Texturizing Mist | I chose this as my sample product for two reasons: I love Harvey Prince and I do not have a product like this. I have not yet tried this out but I am sure I will not be disappointed. Full size, $22

3.) Marcelle Hydra-C 24H Energizing Hydrating Gel | I have so many moisturizing type products that I am not going to open this yet but I love trying new skincare products so I am excited and will eventually use it. Full Size, $24

4.)  ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick | Full size product! Woohoo! Plus I love the ModelCo brand. I like this lipstick because it is a shade I do not have, it is like a burgundy brown type shade. Full Size, $6.66 (Sold in a pack of three for $20)

5.)  English Laundry Notting Hill Femme| This is a woodsy scent and I am not a huge fan but I do not hate it.  Full Size, $90

Is this box worth $10: Yes. The full size lipstick amounts for more than half of the cost of the box.

Is this box worth my $10: Yes. I am happy with the selection of products in the box.

May Popsugar Must Have Box Review & Unboxing!

The Popsugar Must Have Box is a subscription box which costs $39.99 per month, BUT all the products you get are full size and the boxes are always worth more than $100! If you love getting surprises than this box is for you!

The items in the box:

1.) Sisters of Los Angeles Surf Sand Love Beach Towel: Like most people I do not need anymore beach towels but this one is just so stinking cute! It has yellow and white stripes and says "Surf Sand Love" in blue. We have never received a Beach Towel in a box before so I love it! Value: $40

2.) Middle Kingdom Mini Plum Vase in Coral Red: This is a cute mini vase. I do not know if I will personally use it but I will try. I have seen photos where some people have put some nice looking fake flowers in it. I am the worst decorator but it is something I need to work on. Value: $20

3.) Kitsch Tri'd & True Y-Shaped Necklace: This necklace has a triangle charm on it. It is not the cutest piece of jewelry we have received in a box but I will still wear it. $32

4.) Sage & Row Bare Shave Cream: I love that they included a shave cream since it is a different type of beauty product than what they normally include. I have yet to try it out but have heard good things. $17

5.) Batiste Dry Shampoo: You can never go wrong with having an extra dry shampoo around and I have heard good things about this one! $4

6.) Hammond's Candies McCraw's Flat Taffy: I am not a huge taffy person but this is actually pretty good. It gets stuck to your teeth though so I end up only having a little at a time. $1



I felt that they had a great selection of products this month! They covered most of the basis (they left out entertainment but they usually do). I felt they could have added more value in the Food Department though since they only included they $1 Taffy. However, I enjoyed the box since they included useful products that they do not normally have in the boxes. Even though I would not rank it in my top 5 I still consider it a GREAT box!

Renuzit Pearl Scents Review & GIVEAWAY!

Review:

So far I am really liking this product! I received the Sparkling Rain scent and it just smells fresh like outdoors. I have it high up on a shelf so the cats do not get into it and it really has made the room smell so much better. I have only been using it for a few days now so I will update you on terms of how long it lasts but the packaging says that the pearls will shrink over time and that's how you will know when it needs to be replaced. 

Update: I have had this on my bookshelf for three weeks now. The scent is still just as strong! I can really smell it if a breeze comes through or if the fan is on! There are a few beads on the top that have shrunk but most are still there!

Product Review: VIIcode Eye Mask

VIIcode recently sent me their VIIcode O2M Oxygen Eye Mask to try out. I have to say that I never used an eye mask like this before but I was very happy with the results.  

Six Treatments come in one box and you can use them 2-3 times a week. You leave the Eye pads on overnight (for up to 8 hours) and then peel them off when you wake up in the morning. The pads had a nice cool gel that adheres to your face so they do not move. I loved how the cool feeling made my eyes feel so refreshed instantly and was happy that the cool feeling lasted all night. I was a little nervous that these would move in my sleep since I change positions a lot but I not once had a problem with these moving out of place or falling off.

These masks provide your eye area with essential vitamins, antioxidants, proteins, botanicals, peptides and essential fatty acids. They help with tired eyes, dark circles and fine lines. I do not have any lines around my eyes yet so I can not comment on that aspect but after just a few uses my dark circles were barely visible and I looked much more awake and happy in the morning than I did before.

Review: Neutrogena Nautrals Purifying Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes

Influenster sent me a package of the Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes to test out.

I have been using wipes for years but mostly in addition to (and not in place of) cleanser. Neutrogena has a challenge going on and has partnered with The Nature Conservancy to get people to use less water and to wash their face with only these face wipes (no water needed). I have written a blog post on this challenge so be sure to check it out!

I have been using these wipes for weeks now and I love them! I have not completely given up using water but instead of washing with water and cleanser twice a day I use just the wipes in the morning and use cleanser in the evening. This is at least using half of the water that I used to when cleansing my face.

These wipes smell good and the scent is not too overbearing! They also remove eye makeup like its nobody's business and you do not have to rub too hard and irritate your eyes! 

These wipes can be purchased wherever Neutrogena products are sold and are only around $7 a package (25 count). Neutrogena always has coupons in the newspaper so if you can grab these on sale and use a coupon I am sure you can stock up on them for less than $5 a pack! They are made from naturally-derived fibers and are NOT tested on animals!

Neutrogena Naturals Wipe for Water Challenge

I received the Neutrogena Naturals Voxbox from Influnester and was challenged to take the Wipe for Water Challenge.

If you are unfamiliar with the Wipe for Water Challenge Neutrogena teamed up with The Nature Conservancy to support water conservation and donate up to $50,000. With the challenge you can pledge to wash your face (without water) for up to 7 days. They are only at 52% of reaching their goal at the moment so please visit the Wipe for Water website to pledge. You do not need to use Neutrogena wipes to pledge--you can use other wipes or even cleansing waters. 

I was able to go two days with just washing my face with wipes! However, I have also cut down from washing my face from twice a day with water to just once a day with cleanser and water and using wipes in the morning. My face still feels just as clean and refreshed as it did when I was using just cleanser and water.
